- Communications related to the project is using Whatsapp (weekly basis), Skype (monthly basis), e-mail for routine communication.
Deliverables:
- 2-3 days course events
- course hand outs as hard and soft copies.
Training Modules
1. Play Based Exploration (2-3 days)
This course provide a systematic approach on petroleum exploration, using examples from SE Asia. In a Play-Based Exploration approach, the 'play' is used as the main tool for evaluation. This method will put prospects in regional context and end with a better understanding of risks and opportunities, as well as in a greater consistency of prospect assessments.
Design for: Geologists, geophysicists, biostratigraphers, and engineers (with some knowledge of geology) needing a fundamental understanding of the principles of petroleum exploration.
You will learn: How to:
Course content:
Principle of exploration, Exploration method, Petroleum system elements (charge, reservoir, trap), Play mapping, Common risk segment mapping, Dry hole analysis
2. Data Room Review (1-2 days)
In oil and gas business, data room is one of the key business activity to expand the business. Allmost all farm-in, farm-out, company take-over, selling projects etc. will involve data room review. Decission will be made base on the data available, the ability to review the data in a short time, to understand the risk of the project can only be done if we review the data room effectively and efficiently.
Design for: Mid-career Geoscientits who will involve in data room review, both in 'selling' or in 'buying' position.
You will learn: How to:
Course content:
Senior explorationist and manager sharing their experiences on their data room visits. We will also touch the legal aspect and the business side of geology. A mock data room will be prepared as an exercise in 'selling' and 'buying' project.

You will learn: How to:
- Identify opportunity in exploration
- Gain data in unfamiliar basin / frontier area
- Understand suitable methods and their cost
- Integrate sparse data and come with play map
- Conduct practical Play-Based Exploration workflow
- Learn failure from previous operator

You will learn: How to:
- Prepare the visit and prepare the data room
- Deliver the key selling points to potential 'buyer'
- Review the data effectively in a short time period in the data room
- Bring the message to the management and ease them in making decission
